Robinson, 6 feet 4, 225-pound defensive end Memphis Christian Brothers High School, made a verbal commitment from the Red Raiders Wednesday night.
"My coach called me and told me to offer (a scholarship)," Robinson said, "so I asked coach (Robert), Prunty (defensive ends coach Tech), and I told him that I am ready to Red Raider. He was very enthusiastic. I was happy. Probably, I can not sleep, but two hours tonight. "
Robinson said he was credited with eight sacks last season the team lost the Class 4A second return to the playoffs. He said that the comfort level of staff head coach Tommy Tuberville Tech difference.
Guy Robinson, Lanier Robison, while the state of Arkansas took the city of tubers was an assistant there from 1981 through the 1985th
"Prunty is a good Christian man," Chase Robison said, "and I really enjoyed working with him when I went to camp. Tube City is also a friend of my father. He coached my father in the early 80th USS City I Touch is a great man. I felt very comfortable with the Red Raiders. I knew that this is the place I wanted to go. "
Tech School is the largest to date to provide a scholarship offer Robison. He said he had other Arkansas State, Bowling Green, Louisiana-Lafayette, North Texas, Middle Tennessee State and Western Kentucky.
Robinson said he received regular attention to the recruitment of Arkansas and Mississippi, and I thought it was close to receiving two offers. He said, however, not to flee Tech.
"I am very happy Texas Tech is a school I want to be," he said. "I'm ready for a thief red."
Robison was only four games last year, he moved to linebacker from defensive end to take first place of his wounded comrade. Less than 20 pounds.
"My strength is to move quickly," he said. "I ran at the time and 4.6 (40 meters) from Ole Miss, and in my Shuttle is 3.97, so they are very fast. I am not a child strong, but they are 6-4, 225, and I put on weight easily. "
Oral commitments are non-binding. The national signing period for high school students this year begins on 1 February.
