ABC announced yesterday that Chaz Bono joins Dancing with the Stars cast, which begins Sept. 19.
Cast included Ricki Lake, Ron Artest, Kristin Cavallari, Chynna Phillips, David Arquette, Carson Kressley, Nancy Grace, JR Martinez, Hope Solo, Rob Kardashian and Elisabetta Canalis.
GLAAD was pleased that the series could be both a participant and gay transgendered, and issued the following statement:
"Both gay and transgender people competing to represent the next season, ABC viewers to send a strong message about the diversity of the LGBT community.
