Tennis elbow is an overuse injury that causes inflammation of the tendons that connect the forearm muscles on the outside of the elbow.
Athletes are not alone in insisting on the forearm muscles, though. Painters, plumbers, construction workers and computer users may also be vulnerable.
American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons suggestions on how to relieve pain in tennis elbow:
* Take a break from activities that caused the state for a few days, resting the elbow as much as possible.
* Take an anti-inflammatory drugs (aspirin, Aleve, for example) to relieve pain and swelling.
* Think of physiotherapy to strengthen the forearm muscles.
* Protect your arm brace during activities that led to the state.
